1. What this policy covers
Cookies are small files saved on a device. Browser storage, such as local storage and session storage, can perform similar functions. This policy explains the storage and access technologies used by Recard. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. What Recard currently uses
Recard does not currently run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, advertising-retargeting tags, chat widgets, embedded YouTube/Vimeo players or optional analytics cookies. We do not use cookies to build advertising audiences or sell personal data.
| Technology | Purpose | Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication/session storage | Keeps an authorised business user signed in and helps protect account access. | Strictly necessary | Session or until sign-out/expiry |
| Cookie preference storage | Remembers that a visitor has seen the Recard privacy notice and their saved choice. | Strictly necessary | Until changed or browser storage is cleared |
| Feedback-page session storage | Helps prevent duplicate operational page-open records during the same browsing session. | Operational service storage | End of browser session |
3. Operational activity records
For Recard Plus, a customer-feedback page may record that the page was opened and whether the Google review button was selected. This allows the relevant business to see basic card/page activity. Recard does not use this information for behavioural advertising. We minimise the data used and do not use persistent advertising identifiers. The related personal-data handling is explained in our Privacy Policy.
4. Third-party links and fonts
A link to Google is opened only when a visitor chooses to leave a Google review; Google’s own terms and privacy information then apply. Recard’s feedback page currently loads web fonts from Google Fonts. This is not an analytics tag or advertising cookie, but it means a connection is made to Google’s font service when the page loads. We may self-host fonts in future to remove that connection.
5. Your choices
Because Recard does not currently operate optional analytics or advertising storage, rejecting optional cookies does not remove access to the public website. You can clear or manage cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Clearing essential storage may sign you out of the dashboard or remove saved preferences.
6. Future changes
Before Recard introduces optional analytics, marketing pixels, chat widgets, video embeds or other non-essential technology, we will update this policy to name the provider and purpose, and will implement controls so that the technology does not run unless the required consent has been given.
